I breathed a small sigh of relief earlier this week, when I read in MeetingsNet.com that the final TARP rules were published, and that meetings haven’t been totally bashed. Not a huge sigh, mind you. But, at least the government types haven’t completely lost their minds.
The sigh was on the small side because even though government has elected (heh, get it? elected?) not to eliminate these businesses’ ability to plan and attend meetings, significant damage has already been done. The public has been led to believe (by the media and politicians alike) that meetings are frivolous, evil things. And those who attend meetings are frivolous, evil people, wasting TARP funds. Folks, it’s just NOT SO!
Well, hopefully this video from Meetings Mean Business will get some widespread play. Not bloody likely, but hopefully.
